Career Series: 2210 – Information Technology Specialist
When I joined DISA, I had an Associate of Applied Science in Digital Design from Stratford University
How I found out about the Intern Program:
I saw a job announcement on USAjobs.gov Web site.
The reason I decided to take this position:
Career advancement, training opportunities, and skill development are just some of the attractive benefits that made me interested in working for this agency.
What I do to support our nation's Warfighters:
I maintain a number of Web sites used by our customers (the military services and other DoD agencies). In addition, I ensure that various information technology systems are up-to-date on vulnerability maintenance to ensure our adversaries are unable to access sensitive data.
My favorite work-life benefit:
Telework is my favorite work-life benefit. I take advantage of the ability to work outside of the office on an ad-hoc basis.
My advice to those interested in an information technology specialist intern position at DISA:
DISA has a great deal of opportunities for those just entering the workforce, those looking to advance in their current field, or individuals who are changing over to a whole new career field. The Intern Program is a great way to take advantage of those opportunities.
