Training sessions offer guidance for DISN connection approval process

Live and recorded trainings are available for DOD and non-DOD entities seeking to establish, re-accredit, or re-certify their connections to the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN).

Mission partners are provided with the policy and process information needed to reduce or eliminate processing delays caused by inaccurate or incomplete information.

All areas associated with enterprise connections are covered, and trainings are offered via computer-based trainings (CBTs), Defense Collaboration Services (DCS)-hosted live-remote trainings, and a monthly DCS question and answer session.

CBTs that provide in-depth guidance on specific elements of the connection process are available through the Mission Partner Training Program (MPTP) website. There are currently nine training videos posted to the site. The recorded briefings target specific steps in the processes and areas where users often have difficulty.

Live trainings are held the first and third Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Upcoming topics include:

  • July 18 – Risk Management Framework Introduction.
  • Aug. 1 and 15 – Ports, Protocols, and Services Management Overview.
  • Sept. 5 and 19 – Cyber Hygiene Analysis Introduction.

A live question and answer session with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will be held immediately following each scheduled training session. The session held at 2 p.m. EDT on the third Tuesday of each month will feature an open topics question and answer session. Users can ask questions on any topic and receive answers from SMEs who will be online.
