PRIVACY OFFICE

The Privacy Office is responsible for management oversight of our agency-wide implementation of the Privacy Act program in accordance with 5 U.S. Code Section 552a. We also recognize the importance of protecting privacy as an integral part of achieving the agency's mission.

Privacy is more than just an issue of compliance; it is an issue of trust. This page provides information about Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Privacy Act Program that was established to balance the agency's mission needs for information with the mandatory privacy protection for individuals.

The agency is required to safeguard the collection, access, use, dissemination, and storage of personally identifiable information (PII) and Privacy Act information in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, the E-Government Act of 2002, the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and policy and guidance issued by the President, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Department of Defense (DoD) and the Defense Information Systems Agency.
