The DISA Global Telecommunications Seminar is designed for the person who needs a basic understanding of the DISA provisioning process and requires the ability to submit/manage their unified capabilities requirements. This 4 day seminar is held at DISA Global Field Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois and covers web telecommunications request processes. During the course, students will receive information to facilitate the ordering and life cycle management of their communications requirements. Other presentations include the DISA Network, Defense Switched Network, DISN Router Service, and several other briefings related to the provisioning process. A secret security clearance is required to attend. For specific security clearance procedures please refer to the Visitor Access Request (VAR) document.
Requirements for Attending
FEE: There is no tuition cost for the seminar; however, the participant's organization is responsible for all travel and associated TDY costs to Scott Air Force Base. Billeting arrangements are the responsibility of the attendee.
REGISTRATION: Government and military personnel should obtain approval to attend the course prior to registering on this site. DISA employees can obtain this approval via DOTS. NOTE: Once DOTS approval is obtained, individuals must register for the appropriate class via this website. Seminar space is limited to a maximum of 14 individuals. Once approval is attained, individuals can register for the desired session. Contractor personnel being submitted for class attendance must provide a statement from their DOD sponsoring organization that their duties require TR preparation and that attendance is within the scope of their contract(s). A standby list of those individuals not selected for a particular session will be maintained and these individuals will be contacted if a slot becomes available.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: A secret security clearance is required for access to the facility. This is a Command requirement that will maximize the student's learning experience while maintaining our facility's security responsibility. Individuals will not be allowed access to the facility without prior security clearance verification. Please ensure you provide your security manager's contact information at the time of registration.
ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION: Once your security clearance is verified, you will receive an email confirmation. Please contact the DISA Global Field Command POC below if you are unable to attend.
PREREQUISITES: Much of the class work will be hands-on in the DISA web application - attendees should have a basic working knowledge of computers, and basic understanding of the Windows operating system. Also, an understanding of basic telecommunications principles is helpful.
