A historic milestone was reached recently when 14 information technology professionals from the Defense Technical Information Center successfully joined the Defense Information Systems Agency, as a part of the Fourth Estate Network Optimization modernization effort under the direction of the Defense Enclave Services directorate.

“We want to welcome our new teammates to DISA,” said Air Force Col. Chris Autrey, DES office chief. “This will be a great opportunity for incoming employees to further align and optimize their IT skillsets, experience and knowledge, as they join the Department of Defense’s premier IT agency, as well as bring their own expertise to their new coworkers.”

With the aim to modernize DoD’s IT architecture, reduce costs, improve business practices and mitigate operational and cyber risks, in early 2019 the deputy secretary of defense formally designated DISA as the single service provider to optimize network capabilities for defense agencies and field activities.

During the next five years, DISA’s 4ENO program will continue to migrate these agencies’ IT services to DISA:

  • Defense Information System Agency
  • Defense Technical Information Center
  • Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency
  • Defense Media Activity
  • Defense Microelectronics Activity
  • Defense Manpower Data Center
  • Defense Contract Management Agency
  • Defense Finance and Accounting Service
  • Defense Threat Reduction Agency
  • Defense Contract Audit Agency
  • Defense Logistics Agency
  • Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency
  • Missile Defense Agency
  • Defense Health Agency

“As our pilot agency, we have had the benefit of working together with DTIC as a close mission partner through this migration process,” said Autrey. “It’s our aim to focus on the successful integration of our new employees and make this process as positive and seamless an experience for them as we can.”
