DISA moves forward with milCloud 2.0
The Defense
Information Systems Agency (DISA) awarded a competitive single award,
indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for milCloud 2.0 Phase 1
commercial infrastructure services in Department of Defense (DOD) facilities on
June 9, 2017, partnering with CSRA, LLC, to connect DOD networks in a private deployment model for
use by the DOD community and DOD partners, to include transition engineering
services.
The contract
ceiling is $498 million and the minimum guarantee was also awarded on June 9,
2017 via task order 0001 in the amount of $600,000.
The period of performance
for the base period is June 9, 2017 - June 8, 2020 with five, 1-year option
periods.
DISA’s
milCloud portfolio supports the DOD’s overall data center consolidation effort
by providing the capabilities to shift legacy applications to cloud service
providers.
The program aims
to reduce DOD’s total cost of ownership for infrastructure services, validate
the transition and adoption of cloud technologies across the department, and
scale computing resources based on operational mission partner requirements.
milCloud 2.0
includes an on-premise Infrastructure-as-a-Service capability and features
utility-based billing. This means mission partners will solely pay for actual
usage, enabling them to scale infrastructure and application resources to meet
shifts in real-time operational requirements.
