03/07/2019 DISA’s National Background Investigation Service Program to transfer to Defense Security Service

The Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) National Background Investigation Service (NBIS) will soon fall under the authority, direction, and control of the Director of Defense Security Service (DSS), according to a memorandum issued by David L. Norquist, who is performing the duties of the Deputy Secretary of Defense, Jan. 28.

02/12/2019 DISA grants provisional authorization at data impact level 5 to PTC Cloud Services

The Defense Information Systems Agency authorizing official granted a 12-month Department of Defense (DOD) provisional authorization for PTC Cloud Services’ DOD community cloud. PTC Cloud Services (CS) offers a software as a service (SaaS) for systems hosting Impact Level 5 (IL5) controlled unclassified information data.

02/12/2019 Endpoint Security Summit focuses on enterprise modernization

A Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)-hosted Endpoint Security Summit, took place at the agency’s Fort Meade headquarters Feb. 5-7, bringing together more than 250 Department of Defense (DOD) endpoint security subject matter experts, system administrators, analysts, and users to discuss endpoint modernization efforts.

02/06/2019 DISA grants provisional authorization at data impact level 4 to Adobe

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Authorizing Official granted a one-year Department of Defense (DOD) Provisional Authorization (PA) with conditions to the Adobe Experience Manager for Managed Services (AEMMS). The AEMMS offers an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for systems hosting Impact Level 5 data.

Forge.mil, a Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) -managed application, became the first Department of Defense (DOD) application with a production environment hosted in the milCloud 2.0 infrastructure-as-a-service offering Dec. 20.

12/18/2018 DISA begins deploying technology to modernize security clearance investigations

The Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) program office released its first set of capabilities (release 1.0) in October, and is preparing to deploy release 1.5 at the end of December.
