DISA grants provisional authorization at data impact level 5 to IBM

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Authorizing Official granted a 12-month Department of Defense (DOD) Provisional Authorization (PA) for the International Business Machines (IBM) SmartCloud for Government (SCG) by IBM.  The IBM SCG offers an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for systems hosting Impact Level 5 data.

The IBM SCG is a secure, multi-tenant cloud exclusive for United States government federal agencies.  The privacy and security needs of federal agencies are maintained while gaining operational and cost efficiencies via shared infrastructure, commercial off the shelf cloud technology, functionality, and monthly subscription pricing.  

This represents the first IL5 for the IBM SCG, making their IaaS available to DOD and federal communities.
