COMMAND SENIOR ENLISTED LEADER
Chief Master Sgt. Israel Jaeger is the command senior enlisted leader for Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Network and the Defense Information Systems Agency. In this capacity, he serves as the principal enlisted advisor to the commander/director, on force development, personnel utilization, retention and sustainment, to meet DOD and joint force requirements.

Jaeger guides the management of a global network of more than 20,000 service members, civilians and contractors who provide defense communications solutions to the president of the United States, secretary of defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff and combatant commanders. DISA operates joint, interoperable command and control capabilities for the DOD, which support more than 200,000 warfighters in 150 countries.
He also drives unified action across the DOD to secure, operate and defend the DODIN. He provides oversight in the establishment of DODIN priorities, threat-informed actions through formal planning and future operational initiatives, and the command and control of daily unified network operations, cybersecurity actions and defensive operations on the DODIN.
Jaeger previously served as the senior enlisted advisor for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Cyber Effects Operations, Headquarters, United States Air Force, Pentagon, providing oversight of policy formulation, senior leader development, force management, career field utilization, retention and sustainment, to meet service and combatant command requirements, in support of a 73,000-person enterprise with a portfolio valued at $72 billion.
Jaeger entered the Air Force in October 1996 as a communications and information systems specialist and has been assigned to various units in Alaska, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, the Netherlands, Iraq, the Azores, Germany, South Carolina, Qatar, Texas, Washington D.C. He directly supported Operations Northern Watch, Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, Inherent Resolve, Freedom's Sentinel, Resolute Support, Spartan Shield, Enduring Sentinel, and Allies Refuge.
Jaeger is a graduate of the United States Navy War College Senior Enlisted Academy, holds a Bachelor of Arts from American Military University, and has completed multiple executive level development courses, to include Enterprise Leadership – Kenan Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina, National and International Security – Alan L. Freed Associates, Washington D.C., and Keystone Command Senior Enlisted Leader course – National Defense University, Washington D.C.
Jaeger has been recognized with numerous decorations, including the Legion of Merit (with two oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (with six oak leaf clusters), Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal (with five oak leaf clusters), Air Force Recognition Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), and Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal. His personal awards include Citation of Honor, Multi-National Security Transition Command, Iraq; DOD National Image Meritorious Service for Headquarter Air Force; and Information Dominance Cyber Operations Senior Noncommissioned of the Year for Headquarter Air Force.
