The Engineering Division is divided into six main functions that support DISN.
-
Backbone Engineering: includes network modeling; backbone trunk ordering and activating; and network monitoring.
-
Network Engineering: includes network changes, problem resolution, and network upgrades.
-
Circuit Engineering: includes detailed circuit configuration engineering and existing circuit re-engineering.
-
Project Management: coordinates node upgrades, modifications, and new node activations.
-
Resource Management: ensures accuracy of the configuration management database (DISN-W) used by the engineering section and initially screens candidate circuit requirements to determine feasibility to ride the DISN backbone.
-
Quality Assurance:
performs performance evaluations of DISN sites.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. CST. For after hours emergency assistance contact DISA Global Operations Command at (618) 418-8626.
