The DISA Global Field Command (DG) Core Operations Training Course (COTC) introduces students to a common core of information and standards. This allows the various CCMD, Service, and Agency (C/S/A) DoD Information Network (DoDIN) Operations Centers to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with the DISA Global Orion Cyberspace Operations Center on the symbiotic operation and security of the DISA managed portion of the DoDIN.
During the first week of instruction, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) highlight processes, procedures, tools, and functionalities of DISA Global through 35+ blocks of instruction.
The COTC is a five-day resident course at DISA Global on Scott AFB, IL. Attending personnel also have the option of an additional week of hands-on training within the Orion Cyberspace Operations Center. During the second week, students will operate and secure the DoDIN working alongside the Orion Cyberspace Operations Center's Battle Captains and Watch Officers.
Optional Hands-On Training: The additional optional week of training allows students to apply their first week of training to real world scenario actions. This one-of-a-kind experience provides the student a global view of operations and security that will assist their unit or organization as they return to home station.
Previous attendees include: The Executive Office of the President, all military Service branches, and Combatant Commands totaling over 470 personnel trained since its inception.
There is no cost for course attendance but units must fund travel per-diem TDY. A secret security clearance is required for attendance.
